SY-04 Hydrostatic Test Machine is used for water jacket method hydrostatic testing for the different kinds of gas cylinders that require volumetric expansion testing during their manufacturing, inspection and evaluation. The test machine is designed and manufactured according to GB/T9251-1997 Hydrostatic Testing Method for Gas Cylinderand American DOT standard.

The design pressure of the test machine is 70Mpa; the testing pressure accuracy is no less than 10 Psi, and the water level measuring accuracy is no less than 0.1g. Time-pressure testing curve, time-water versus pressure-water testing curve can be displayed dynamically in graphics mode during testing.
All testing data will be saved in the computer, and the user can query all the testing data and testing curves for all the tested cylinders from the computer according to requirements.

Water jacket method is applicable to all hydrostatic tests where determination of volumetric expansions is required. It consists of enclosing a cylinder filled with water inside a test jacket filled with water. Pressure is then applied internally to the cylinder, causing the cylinder to expand. The total and permanent volumetric expansions of the cylinder are determined by measuring the amount of water displaced by the expansion of the cylinder when under pressure and after the pressure has been released. This is the only testing method that will requalify a cylinder for charging to 10% in excess of the marked service pressure.
Put the cylinder into a water jacket through hoist device and pressurize the cylinder by the hydrostatic test machine; it will automatically dwell at a set pressure and do pressure testing on the cylinder. At the same time, the cylinder volume expands under pressure and squeezes some water from water jacket into the measuring cup(burette), and then the water is transferred to PC by water collection system(water tank); the cylinder elastic deformation disappears after pressure releasing, then some water flows back from measuring cup to water jacket. However, the remaining water in the measuring cup is still more than that before pressurizing the cylinder. And extra amount of water (when pressure has been released) in the measuring cup is the permanent volumetric expansion of the cylinder; the extra amount of water (attaining test pressure) in the measuring cup is the total volumetric expansion of the cylinder. And the permanent volumetric expansion rate is the ratio of permanent volumetric expansion to total volumetric expansion.
Permanent volumetric expansion, total volumetric expansion and permanent volumetric expansion rate etc will be displayed in the computer software.
